Bilderberg Meeting Fails to Make News

The annual meeting of the Bilderbergers started yesterday and is scheduled to run for 3 days. The Bilderbergers are the self-anointed political and wealthy elite that meet once a year to discuss who knows what. The media "voluntarily" omits covering the extravaganza, focusing instead on bigger news stories, like soccer games (see: Cup, World).

A partial list of attendees from the 2004 meeting included: Senator John Edwards, D-N.C. (the guy that ran with Kerry in '04) Henry Kissinger, Melinda Gates (Bill's wife), David Rockefeller, Timothy F. Geithner, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York; Donald Graham, chairman and CEO of the Washington Post Company; Ralph Reed, former head of the Christian Coalition; Collins, Timothy C - MD and CEO, Ripplewood Holdings LLC, Yale School of Management, Trilateral Commission; Max Boot - "Neoconservative," Council on foreign Relations, Features Editor, Wall Street Journal; Kemal Dervis - Member of Parliament, former senior World bank official; Anna Diamantopoulou - member of Parliament, former European Commissioner for Social Affairs; Richard N Haas - President, Council on Foreign Relations, former Director of Policy and Planning staff, State Department; Lars Heikensten- Governor, Swedish Central Bank; William J. McDonough - Chairman and CEO, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, former president, Federal Reserve Bank of New York; David Rockefeller - Member JP Morgan International Council, Chairman, Council of the Americas; Peter Weinberg - CEO, Goldman Sachs International; George A David - Chairman, Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company SA; Jon S. Corzine - Senator (D-NJ), Chairman and CEO, Goldman Sachs; Kenneth Clarke - Member of Parliament (Con.), Deputy Chairman, British American Tobacco; and Francesco Giavazzi - Professor of Economics, Bocconi University; adviser, World Bank and European Central bank.

The mainstream media thirsts for the gathering of famous people to collect viewers. Viewers means bling. (Not to mention the ability to say, "I covered so and so" at future high level luncheons.) Not covering Bilderberg meetings is another reason to believe the major media is mostly a lapdog for elitists of various stripes.

One wonders if the meetings open with a reading of Psalm 2. It reads,

"1 Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?

2 The kings of the earth take their stand
and the rulers gather together
against the Lord
and against his Anointed One.

3 "Let us break their chains," they say,
"and throw off their fetters."

4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.

5 Then he rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,

6 "I have installed my King
on Zion, my holy hill."

7 I will proclaim the decree of the Lord:
He said to me, "You are my Son;
today I have become your Father.

8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.

9 You will rule them with an iron scepter;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery."

10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;
be warned, you rulers of the earth.

11 Serve the Lord with fear
and rejoice with trembling.

12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry
and you be destroyed in your way,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him."

Thanks for bringing our attention to this. It is interesting what you say regarding the media and this event, and the way you connect scripture.
