There's Salt, and There's Salt

Here in the Great American Empire the sodium chloride (NaCl) industry is dominate in the table salt market. Throw in a little iodine and moisture absorbents and voila!--a table staple. Dr. Joseph Mercola makes a good case for tossing your present shaker in the garbage in exchange for real salt from the Himalayan mountains.

Himalayan salts contain 84 natural elements, including iodine, boron, magnesium, copper, zinc and others. Table salt is 97.5% sodium chloride with the remaining portion being iodine and moisture absorbents. It's essentially devoid of trace minerals.
