If Roe v. Wade Were Overturned?

With the confirmation hearings of John J. Roberts, Jr. looming the Roe v. Wade decision gets more press than usual. Even if Roberts is appointed that doesn't mean Roe v. Wade would be overturned. If it were, the United States would probably become more like China, in that more babies would be born then immediately abandoned.

Abortion advocates would decry the horror of abandoned babies across the land. The church would need to respond by opening more orphanages.

Babies are resilient in their weakness. They're not as cognizant of their degree of security as are children and adults. I know of a three-year-old Chinese orphan in America now receiving chemotherapy for cancer. Having visited him a few times it's clear he's happier than most Americans.

To be an abandoned baby is not a condition for which one would aspire. It certainly beats being a dead baby.
